I am a product leader, based in New York, who loves:
I am currently taking time to explore Central Park with my dog, help out at Housing Works, and explore new opportunities.
I was most recently a Product Director @ Work & Co, a digital product agency, acquired by Accenture. You can see my full resume here and my LinkedIn profile here.
While at Work & Co, I spent two years working closely with the team at Practising Law Institute, a non-profit that provides continuing legal education content and credits, to completely revamp their digital ecosystem. We started with the mobile app, introducing a complete redesign, cross-device streaming, offline viewing and credit tracking, and personalized recommendations. The app release saw a >40% increase in member usage.

First, we met with PLI members to better understand their perception of PLI and how they interact with the organization’s content. We learned that users highly valued the ability to earn the continuing legal education (CLE) credits they needed for their state license, but also enjoyed content from SMEs in their practice area.
Further conversations around the current app and website usage surfaced three key opportunity areas: continuous viewing and credit tracking, offline access, and personalized recommendations.
Our biggest challenge, as we made our way through design, was ensuring we had all the CLE requirements captured. Each of the 50 states have their own set of rules that can vary wildly from each other. At times it seemed nearly every rule had an exception.
We also kept a close eye on ensuring every aspect of the app is fully accessible, a top priority for PLI.
Our team handled the application development, while PLI’s team handled the back-end services. We had two separate SCRUM squads: one for iOS and one for Android. To ensure each team was rowing in the same direction, we had a weekly tech check-in with the PLI team and shared sprint planning. Otherwise, Slack and Jira helped us stay connected in real-time.
We completed the work on time and on budget. We even got the opportunity to help PLI develop launch assets, like the video above.
The app has been a huge success, landing PLI in the 2023 Fast Company Brands that Matter list.
